Download this and then install it. Then you sign in with LJ username (so mine would be siri_greene@livejournal.com) and your normal LJ password and then it's like instant messageing with your flist :D

it works just like aim :D

if you installed it, you can im with your friends. Well, that is if they install lj talk too and sign on
